"шалаши"; в иудаизме - праздник шалашей - празднуется 8 или 9 дней - в память о тех шалашах, в которых жили евреи во время блуждания по пустыне в течение сорока лет под предводительством Моисея (или Моше Рабейну); в празднике Суккот очень заметен его сельскохозяйственный аспект, это праздник в честь сбора урожая, праздник - благодарность Всевышнему за посланное Им изобилие; другое яркое отличие праздника Суккот - это исполнение заповеди о четырёх растениях ( four (agricultural) species): лулав (побег финиковой пальмы ( a palm branch)) ( lulab (or lulav)), гадас (мирт) ( a spring of myrtle), арава (речная ива) ( a willow leaf) и плод этрог ( etrog) соединяются в свежий, зелёный букет, символически указывая пути для достижения плодотворного сотрудничества всех евреев в новом году: единство и терпимость) Sukkot(h), Sukkos, Succos, Succoth
